REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT (PRIVATE PRACTICE CLINIC)

  • If you do not have one, please see your GP in the first instance.

Our staff will be in contact to confirm details. Due to long wait times for new consultations and limited capacity, we may intermittently close our waitlist and recommend you find an alternative endocrinologist to ensure you receive more timely care. Please see adjacent info.

What to Bring

Please remember to bring the following when you come for your appointment (or fax to our office at anytime):

1- Referral letter from doctor (GP or specialist). You will generally require a new referral from your GP every 12 months
2- Medicare card, DVA card, pension or health care card
3- Copies of any blood test results, X-rays, MRI’s, CT scans etc and any other relevant information
4- Current medication list if available

Cancellations

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible and allow at least 24 hours notice so that we can offer your appointment time to other patients on our waiting list, otherwise a cancellation fee may be charged.

Fees

This is a private clinic and there are out-of-pocket expenses for consultations. Medicare rebates are available. Please contact us for an updated fee list. Fees at this clinic remain below the recommended AMA Fees List. Gap or out-of-pocket cost estimates for a first-time consultation are approximately $230 (pensioner $130) and subsequent follow-up consultations $115 (pensioner $85). For other options and alternative clinics, please see below.

Waiting List and Alternative Clinics

Prof Cheung currently has a waitlist of several months for first-time appointments but does prioritise urgent appointments as best as possible. Dr Jasmine Zhu, an experienced endocrinologist who shares her clinical interests also consults in the same rooms. You will be able to book an appointment with both endocrinologists using the Request an Appointment form on this page. Due to a large number of referrals and limited capacity, we will intermittently close our waitlist and recommend you find an alternative endocrinologist for more timely care. Prof Cheung also works as part of the team of Endocrinologists at Austin Health (public hospital) in the General Endocrinology and the Transgender Clinics which are bulk-billing clinics without any out-of-pocket costs.
